Bonnie Stamos Destounis was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. - She is a physiotherapy graduate from McGill University. - She served for several years, as a consultant to the Baffin Regional Hospital through the McGill Baffin Zone Project on Baffin Island, North West Territories, Canada. - She was very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit fourteen communities on Baffin Island. During these visits she had the privilege of sharing and participating in recreational activities such as fishing and hunting with her aboriginal friends. Upon retirement she pursued her Love of the Arctic through sculpturing themes and subjects of the ”north”. - She continues to be inspired to proudly promote high quality ceramic sculptures. Through her original sculptures she captures the naturalism and dynamic life in Canada’s high Arctic.
